Message from the AD: Coach Jason Keller
Jacket Supporters: We have an exciting week of Basketball coming your way this week. Coach Carter, Coach Coker and their hard working girls beat Port Aransas last Thursday in an exciting last second win down in 3 rivers. The girls were down by 8 points with 2 minutes to go in the game and were determined to advance to the next round of the State Playoffs. They battled and were not denied as they won 53-52. They are the 2012 Area Champions. Please congratulate the coaching staff and the players for their success. The girls will now play the Medina Lady Cats on Tuesday Feb 21st at 7:00 pm at Medina Valley in Castroville. The admission is $4 for adults and $2 for students. Please consider supporting the Lady Jackets Tuesday and take the short trip to Castroville as we prepare for a packed house as seats will fill up fast. If they win Tuesday night they will play in New Braunfels on Friday in the Regional Semi-Finals of the Playoffs making them one of 16 teams left in the State. The girls are 23-6 on the season.
The Boys beat SA Gervin Friday for the #1 seed in State Playoffs. By winning and beating SA Gervin Friday, the boys are open on Tuesday with a bye and will play Thursday in Pleasanton (as of today) vs the winner of Falls City and Benavides for an Area Championship, time is TBA. The boys are ready for a long run in the Playoffs as Coach Navarro and his staff have worked hard to be Champions and are excited about the playoffs. The are 21-3 on the season, please congratulate them on their success
