O.A.P Competes at District
By: Andrea Puente
Our One Act Play students advanced from zone contest to district. Unfortunately, even though they did their best, they did not advance on from district. They had fun going to contest at Kerville Tivy High School-- something that Sabinal has not done in a long, long time. The students saw lots of good plays, learned new things, and got plenty of ideas to work with next year. Medina and D'hanis were the only to advanced from district and went to area contest. Still, the students had fun and had many compliments on their play; Her Senior Year. There will be a dinner theatre here on April 28th in the Sabinal Gym. You won't be disssapointed.

One Act Play season has officially started. This year, the school will be performing the play, “Her Senior Year” which is a drama written by Cody Moree. This story is about a girl named Blaire who has everything. She was the homecoming queen, the girl everyone loves. Blaire has everything going for her, and she is even bound to be valedictorian, and then she finds out she has cancer.
Congratulations to the following students who got parts in the play and will be acting as these characters: Caitlin Williams as Blair, Adrian Alejandro as Kyle, Marcela Torres as Ami, Mikeyy Aguilar as Aaron, Mario Perez as Todd, Esther Parker as Mavis, Tori Alejandro as Shelby, and Kristina Ferrel as Kellie.
There are also several students who make up the Stage Crew. Senior crew members include Crew-leader Carolyn Hernandez, Joey Rodriguez, Chris Olivares, Natalie Flores, and Alyssa Martinez. These people will be working behind the scenes to handle scene changes and props.
